The Refractometer is a tool used to determine the concentration of a water solution measuring its refractive index. The tool should be used by anyone connected with the use of grinding machinery to check the concentration value of the oil to water mix in the coolant solution used in the grinding machine.

The range varies from 0 to 10 (BRIX) and allows MVM machine users to measure the correct concentration value of the coolant, usually between 1.5% to 2%. Use of the tool is extremely important when operating grinding machines: the coolant solution needs to be correct to get best results and in order to eliminate problems caused by the coolant being too strong or too weak.
